What do I wear to my family photoshoot?

So, you've booked in your family photographs and are ready to create some wonderful moments to hang on your wall. As the time gets closer to the shoot you wonder - what am I going to wear, and what will I dress the kids in?!

Getting the whole family sorted before heading out the door can be busy enough, so a little planning ahead of outfits will help you to take the stress away on the day of what to wear.

Here’s a few tips to help you with choosing your outfits for your photoshoot.

  1. Choose a colour palette

When deciding on clothing for the family, opt for a colour palette (similar tones, rather than trying to match everyone in one same colour). Examples of tones could include; pastels, earthy tones, neutral etc This will make your family look amazing by complimenting each other!

2. Have a mixture of solid colours and patterns

Having some solid coloured clothing alongside different patterns can look great in photo's, and stops it from feeling like you're all matching. If there are a couple of people wearing patterns, try to choose different patterns. Smaller patterns are more suitable than big, bold patterns as they aren't as distracting in a photograph.

3. Avoid clothing with large words on them.

Anything with large print, large logo's or company names can be distracting in photographs, so for photographs that focus on the family, stick with clothing that doesn't include these.

Your photo's are going to hang on your walls and be cherished for many years ahead, so following these few simple tips will help to make your images timeless and make your images even more beautiful.
